OPEC Fund Annual Report 2022

02 | OPERATIONS – DELIVERY BY SECTORS

I believe that our impact is deeply felt in a nation like Chad. Knowing the positive effect that our contribution has is a source of great personal satisfaction to me.

The INSTA project will increase the total number of qualified technicians, while also improving their skillsets — a move that will help improve Chad’s health indicators, which are among the lowest in the world. New buildings and equipment will benefit all seven departments that are part of INSTA, particularly the Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences Department, where 9 out of 10 students are women. With a focus on practical learning and innovation, projects like INSTA equip the next generation of health- care professionals in Chad with the skills they need to drive their nation’s progress. 50 % Increase in biomedical graduate technicians 30 % Youth literacy rate in Chad (2016, UNICEF)

US$685.7 GDP per capita of Chad (2021, World Bank)
