President
The President is the OPEC Fund’s Chief Executive Officer and is elected by the member countries for a five-year term. He heads the OPEC Fund’s operations following the directions of the Governing Board and in accordance with the regulations stated in the Agreement Estab- lishing the OPEC Fund. The incumbent Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa assumed his post in November 2018. His man- date was extended for a second five-year term in June 2023 by the Ministerial Council. Chairman Mohammed Al-Jadaan said: “Member countries of the OPEC Fund unanimously endorsed Dr. Alkhalifa’s re-election and he has our full support to advance the noble cause of our institution in the coming years.”
