Most project results were achieved in partner countries in Africa, followed by Latin America and the Caribbean (Figure 17) .

The 75,868 farmers benefitting from agricultural assets, inputs and services were mainly the result of one key project in Burundi targeting food security. This project supported 65,868 farmers (21,553 of which female), treated 2,419 hectares of land, trained 37,914 people (13,125 of which were women), supported 20,101 jobs and constructed and upgraded 216 km of road. A private sector project that provided financing to the East African Development Bank which on-lent funds to a project in the sugar sector in Uganda benefited an additional 10,000 farmers and built one hospital and one educational facility. The 1,249 MSMEs that benefited from loans and guarantees are the result of four financial sector projects. The majority of MSMEs supported were in Paraguay (85 percent) and the rest in El Salvador, Uzbekistan and Maldives. One finan- cial institution in Egypt also financed the construction of six new education buildings. A financial intermediary in Latin America and the Caribbean financed sub-projects
which added 92 MW of renewable solar energy in Chile and Ecuador and are expected to avoid a total of 73,344 tons of CO 2 -equivalent annually. In addition, a power project in Côte d’Ivoire added a 180 MW gas-fired power plant to the country’s installed capacity. This significant energy project also provided or improved electricity connections for 300,000 households, enhancing energy access and supporting local communities. OPEC Fund projects built or rehabilitated 505 km of roads through five transport projects, two agriculture sector projects and one project in water and sanitation. In Lebanon, a transport project targeted rural communities to enhance economic activity, agricultural production and living standards. In Grenada, the rehabilitation of agricul- tural feeder roads enhanced access to land and markets, promoting agricultural production. Ethiopia upgraded roads to support agricultural and trade activities, while Madagascar focused on constructing an all-weather road
