Development Effectiveness Report 2024

CHAPTER 4

Table 18: Main development results of all projects completed/ achieving EOM between July 2023 and June 2024.

The data analysis for the projects completed or reaching EOM between July 2023 and June 2024 was conducted through a thorough desk review of approval, supervision and completion documents available in OPEC Fund repos- itories, obtained upon request from clients, as well as on public websites of co-financiers. In line with other multi- lateral development banks, the results reported generally reflect the outcomes of the supported projects as a whole, rather than solely the OPEC Fund’s contribution. This approach was adopted because, in most cases, it was not feasible to isolate the specific results of the OPEC Fund’s contributions due to limitations in the available data and/or the nature of the projects. 29 Table 18 highlights key development results from opera- tions that were either completed or reached EOM during the analysis period. These standard combinable indicators cover 30 of the 31 reviewed projects. 30

269,910 hectares of land treated

34,678 women empowered

1,249 MSMEs financed

180 MW in energy capacity installed or refurbished (of which 92 MW renewable)

20,101 jobs supported

29 For most projects, several co-financed activities worked interlinked to produce joint results. Whenever results were specific to those components financed by the OPEC Funds, only those results were reported. 30 The only project that did not contribute results data was an agricultural feeder roads project in Grenada that was cancelled after an initial disburse- ment for consultancies but before implementation.
