“The development of the Sultan Faisal bin Turki Road (Khasab-Daba-Lima Road) marks a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity and driving economic and social progress in the Musandam Governorate. This modern road network reduces travel time between cities and villages, making transportation more efficient and acces- sible, especially in the region’s rugged mountainous terrain. By facilitating the movement of people and goods, the road plays a crucial role in boosting trade, tourism and local businesses, contributing to local economic growth. Additionally, the improved road infra- structure enhances access to essential services such as education and health- care, while strengthening emergency response capabilities in cases of natural disasters or medical emergencies. This strategic infrastructure project reflects a commitment to sustainable develop- ment, fostering long-term stability and prosperity for Musandam’s communities while preserving its unique geographical and cultural identity.”
Despite impressive progress the expansion of Oman’s road network remains a long-term challenge due to the country’s topography
